Thanks to everyone who dropped by both in-store and online in 2018. It was a great year, and your support goes right back to independent Indigenous artists and communities.

We will stay open Friday 14 December until 6:30pm

We will close our doors 3pm on Friday 21 December reopening 22 January, 2019. During this time we will not be able to process online sales.

Situated in the historical Lyons Cottage along the Esplanade, Aboriginal Bush Traders is one of Darwin’s most unique attractions. Our retail gallery exhibits a range of authentic Indigenous products, and is complimented by our Café, which focuses on using native Australian products and bush tucker in our menu.

For 40,000 years Aboriginal people have been harvesting bush tucker; today Aboriginal Bush Traders is serving it up with a modern twist! Native Australian products are the showpiece of our cakes, teas, dampers, jams, sandwiches and salads.

Visit us at historic Lyons Cottage in the heart of the CBD for Breakfast, Lunch and Coffee.

Come and visit Aboriginal Bush Traders on Thursday 6th December 2018 from 9.00am – 2.00pm to celebrate Ironbark Aboriginal Corporation’s Community Development Program (CDP) showcase and market.

The grounds of Lyons Cottage will come alive with stalls from CDP projects in Acacia, Amangal, Batchelor, Belyuen, Daly River and Holtze. Browse and purchase artwork and handmade products and meet the makers behind these unique, one of a kind creations.

A BBQ will be available.

OUR STORY

Art, culture and bush harvest products are integral to our communities and have strong potential for creating jobs and developing our communities through Indigenous tourism. Ironbark Aboriginal Corporation established Aboriginal Bush Traders in 2008 to support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people who want to engage in these economic activities in a sustainable way.
